Lived at 152, Derby Road, Nottingham. Son of Thomas and Sarah Jane Dennis, of 70, Hartley Road, Radford, Nottinghamshire. He was an electrical engineer for Nottingham City Council prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He joined the 13th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 17th April 1915 and was then posted to the 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He was killed in action, 1st August 1916, during a raid on the German potions near Givenchy, France.
