Battalion :10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Clifton, Derbyshire and lived at Ashbourne, Derbyshire.Son of James and Eliza Alice Deakin of Bonds Mill yard, Ashbourne.He was a tape weaver prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France 14th July 1915 and was killed in action by german shellfire whist in the line at Sanctuary Wood 14th December 1915.
