Born and lived at North Wingield. Son of Thomas and Sarah De Banke, of North Wingfield, Chesterfield, Derbyshire.Hwas a colliery belt boy priotr to enlisting at Chesterfield. he served at Gallipoli in 1915 and was killed action whilts working on fatigues in Joseph trench near Maillet Mailley, Somme 29th November 1916, age 22.

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.

He is also commemorated on the North Wingfeild memorial, north Wingfield, Derbyshire.
