Born and lived at Derby.Son of Henry Ernest and Hannah Mary Elizabeth Daykin, of 10, Byron Street, Derby.He wes a clerk prior to enlisting 3rd November 1914 at Derby. je was appointed Lance Cor[oral 17th December 1915, He went France 26th February 1917 and was Promoted Corporal 13th April 1917.He suffered shrapnel wounds to his head 13th April 1918, was treated at 57 Field Ambulance and died of wounds at 64 casualty clearing Station, Mendinghem 14th April 1918, age 21
