Born and lived at Belper, Derbyshire. Son of William Alfred and Sarah Ann Day; Husband of Harriet Walker Day, of 17, Long Row, Belper, Derbyshire. He was a storekeeper at a cotton mill prior to enlisting at Belper. He died of gas poisoning 23rd November 1917, aged 34.
