Born in Liverpool and lived in Derby. Son of Benjamin and Agnes Davis, of 98, Peartree Street, Derby. Husband of Lucy Jane Davis, of 22, Cherryholt Lane, Newark-On-Trent, Nottinghamshire. He was a Painter and Paper Hanger prior to enlisting on 30th December 1912 at Derby. He went to France on 11th November 1914 and was killed in action, on 31st August 1916, age 24, whilst serving in the line near Vermelles, France.
