Born at Ruthin, Denbighshire, Wales. Adopted son of Mary Pugh, of 213 Carr Road, New Broughton, Denbighshire. He was a farm labourer prior o enlisting on 30th April 1914 at Adwyrclawdd, Denbighshire. he went to France on 6th December 1914 and was transferred to the 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 6th April 1918 and died from gas poisoning and wounds 25th August 1918.
