Born and lived at Jacksdale, Nottinghamshire. Son of John and Anne Davey, of, Jacksdale. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 26th January 1915 and was killed in action, 19th June 1918, aged 22, during a raid on the German lines at the “Chalk Pits”, near Mazingarbe, France.
