Battalion: 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Longton, Staffordshire. Son of George and Emily Davenport, of 37, New Hall Road, Longton. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Longton. He served in Gallipoli during 1915 and was killed in action, 9th August 1916, age 25, whilst attached to the 8th Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment.
