Born at Barholm, Lincolnshire. Son of William Francis and Jane Dance, of 51 Hankey Street, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. He was a milk lad prior to enlisting at Peterborough. He was killed in action, 3rd October 1918, during the attack on Ramicourt and Montbrehain, France.
