Battalion: 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Gotham, Nottinghamshire. Son of Samuel and Elizabeth Dakin. He was a gypsum miner prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 10th October 1916, aged 31, in the attack on the Schwaben Redoubt, near Thiepval, France during the Battle of the Somme.
