British 15 Star, British War and Victory Medalkilled in action, 9th August 1915, in the attack at Ismail Oglu Tepe (Chocolate Hill), Turkey.Born at Snieinton, Nottingham and lived at Shirebrook, Nottinghamshire. Son of Henry and Lucy Daft, of 5 Westgate Street, St. Annes, Nottingham. Husband of Amy Dafty of 32 Merchant Street, Shirebrook, Derbyshire. He served in the Boar war 1899 to 1901 with the Army Service Corps. He was a coal miner prior to re-enlisting on 13th August 1914 at Nottingham. he went to Gallipoli in July 1915 and was killed in action, 9th August 1915, in the attack at Ismail Oglu Tepe (Chocolate Hill), Turkey.
