Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of Francis William and Lucy Dabell, of 9 Skinner Street, Nottingham. He was employed at Thomas Foreman’s Printing Works, Hucknall Road, Nottingham, prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action by German shellfire, 27th June 191, whilst serving in the trenches near Bullay Grenay, France.
