Private Thomas Edwin Dabell

Battalion: 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of Charles and Emma Dabell, of Carey’s Yard, Coalpit Lane, Nottingham. He was a moulders labourer prior to enlisting on 16th December 1913 at Nottingham. He went to France on 17th May 1916 and was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, in the attack on the German positions at Ovillers, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
Commemorated: Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
