Battalion: 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Normanton, Derbyshire. Husband of Sarah Ann, of Edward Cottages, Redhill Lane, Arnold, Nottingham. He was a coal miner. He enlisted at Nottingham 14th September 1914 but was discharged, medically unfit on 16th November 1914. He re-enlisted in March 1915, went to France 14th July 1915 and was killed in action near Delville Wood on the Somme, France, 12th August 1916 during the Battle of the Somme.
