Battalion: 12th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Tibshelf, Derbyshire. Son of Hannah Ashmore (formerly Cupit) of Babbington Street, Tibshelf. Husband of Olive Cupit of 8, Brook Street, Tibshelf. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting on 1st December 1914 at Pontefract, Yorkshire. He went to France on 29th August 1915 and was wounded by a gas shell, 293rd June 1917, whilst serving in the line at Outerdom, Belgium and died of wounds on 27th June 1917.
