Born and lived in Bradford, Yorkshire. Son of Bertha Susannah Culling, of 52, Thornbury Drive, Bradford. He enlisted on 24th November 1915 at Bradford. He went to France on 26th February 1917. He suffered shrapnel wounds to his left arm and right-hand on 8th April 1917, he was treated at 2/3rd Northern Field Ambulance and rejoined his battalion on 22nd April 1917. He was admitted to No. 22 Casualty Clearing Station at Bruay, 18th October 1917, suffering injuries to his legs and thigh. He was taken to 18 General Hospital Camieres, before being transferred to England on Hospital Ship Princess Elizabeth, 22nd April 1917. He returned to France on 4th April 1918 and suffered gunshot wounds to his testicles on 15th April 1918 and dies of wounds at 36 Casualty Clearing station Haringhe, Belgium.

Died: 15th April 1918, aged 20.
