Born at Sutton-In-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire and lived at 9 Club Street, Sutton-In-Ashfield. Son of Thomas and Eliza Cudworth, of 13, Park Street Sutton-In-Ashfield. He was a Barbers Lather boy prior to enlisting at Sutton-In-Ashfield, 5th September 1914 age 16. He went to France on 31st August 1915 and was the regimental barber. He was killed in action, 3rd May 1916, aged 18, whilst serving in the line near Dernancourt, France.
