Private Thomas Croxton

Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Son of Richard and Ellen Croxton, of 10 Market Street, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting on 24th January 1908. He served in India from the 5th January 1909 to the 2nd of October 1914. He went to France on 4th November 1914. He suffered from frostbite and was evacuated to England on Hospital Ship. St Patrick., 1st December 1914. He returned to France and was killed in action, 28th April 1915, whilst serving in the trenches near Rue de Bois, France.
