Born and lived at Whittington, Derbyshire. Son of Levi and Mary Crich, of 24 Chapel Street, Whittington Moor. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He died of nephritis on 22nd April 1915, at 4 Southern General Hospital, Plymouth.
