Battalion: 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Alfreton, Derbyshire. Son of Francis and Temperance Cox, of “Liondale,” Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire. Husband of Grace Cox, of 9, Princess Street, Chesterfield. He was a grocer’s manager prior to enlisting at Derby. He was killed in action, on 7th June 1917, aged 38, in the attack at Hill 60 near Ypres, Belgium.
