Private Clarence Stephen Cox
Army Number: 95807 (Formerly 204205 Lincolnshire Regiment)
Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Sleaford, Lincolnshire. Son of John and Betsy Cox, of 31, Albion Terrace, Boston Road, Sleaford. He was a labourer prior to enlisting on 16th October 1916 at Sleaford. He was transferred to the 7th Reserve Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 28th August 1917 and was posted to the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and went to France 2nd April 1918. He was killed in action, 27th May 1918, aged 18, whilst the battalion was in a retiring fight from Montagne de Guyancourt, France.
