Son of William and Sarah Ann Cox, of 101, Exeter Road, Nottingham. He went to France 19th September 1917 and joined the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment 25th September 1917. He was killed in action, 31st March 1918, age 39, whilst serving in the line at Moreuil, France.
