Private Bert Cox

Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Swaffham, Norfolk. Son of William and Susanna Cox, of Hen Coop Cottage. Market Street, Hailsham, Sussex. He was a road labourer prior to enlisting at Eastbourne. He was killed in action, 26th March 1918, whilst the battalion was withdrawing under heavy German fire towards Rosieres, France.
