Born at Morton, Bourne, Lincolnshire. He lived at 48, Appletongate, Newark, Nottinghamshire. Son of John William and Elizabeth Cox, of 126, Northgate, Newark. He was a Drayman prior to enlisting at Newark. He went to France 2nd March 1915 and died of wounds 24th April 1917, aged 32.
