Battalion: 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Draycott, Derbyshire. Son of George Louis and Edna Cowlishaw, of Royston Villas, 204, Almond Street, Derby. He was an electrical engineer at Midland Railway, Derby, prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France on 14th July 1915 and was killed in action, 7th July 1916, age 23, in the attack on the Quadrangle Support near Contalamaison, France during the Battle of the Somme.
