Born at Thirlby, Lincolnshire. Son of Thomas and Mary Ann Coulson, of 54, Upper Regent Street, Beeston, Nottingham. Brother of Mr F. Coulson, of 54, Upper Regent Street, Beeston, Nottingham. He was a box maker at John Player and Son’s Ltd, Beeston, prior to enlisting on 18th May 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France on 28th February 1915 and was killed in action, 13th October 1915, age 17, at the Hohenzollern Redoubt, France.
