Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of Edward And Rebecca Cotton, of 568, Berridge Road, Nottingham. He was a packer at John Player & Son. (Tobacco Factory) prior to enlisting at Nottingham, He went to France on 25th February 1915. Killed in action, 21st March 1918, aged 21, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
