Husband of Alice Maude Cornwell, of 243 Maryvale Road, Bournville, Birmingham. He was a chocolate moulder prior to enlisting on 10th December 1915 at Birmingham. He went to France on 10th January 1918, transferred to the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 17th January 1918 and was killed in action, 27th May 1918, aged 18. whilst the battalion was in a retiring fight from Montagne de Guyancourt, France.
