Born at Tony Pandy, Glamorganshire, Wales. Son of John Brewer and Gwenllian Mary Corden, of Gordon Hotel, Gelli Road, Pentre, Rhondda, Wales. He was a colliery fitter prior to enlisting on 14th November 1914 at Tony Pandy. He went to France on 14th September 1915 and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal on 14th November 1916. Was transferred to the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 1st November 1917. He was killed in action, 8th October 1918, in the attack on Doon Mill Copse and Doon Hill, near Brancourt, France.
