Born at Jarrow, County Durham. Son of Robert and Mary Corbett, of 7, Stratford Villas, Heaton, Newcastle-On-Tyne. He was a clerk prior to enlisting. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant 8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 12th January 1916. He was killed in action, 14th July 1917, aged 24, whilst the battalion was in the line at Chelers, France.
