Battalion: 1/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Osmston, Derbyshire. Son of Lewis and Arabella Cooper, of 104, High Street, Derby. He enlisted at Derby and was killed in action on 4th March 1917, at age 18, whilst moving forward to take over old German front line trenches at Rettanoy Farm, near Gommecourt, France during which the Germans launched a counter-attack.
