Born and lived at 25, Albert Street, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Son of Edward Thomas and Catherine Cooper, of 15A, Hamilton Place, St. Paul’s, Cheltenham. He was a butchers assistant prior to enlisting at Derby and went to France on 14th July 1915. He died of wounds on 25th September 1915, aged 22.
