Battalion: 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Calverton, Nottinghamshire. Son of John James Cooper. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He went to France on 31st August 1915 and was killed in action, 26th September 1916, aged 30, near Le Sars during the Battle of the Somme.
Commemorated: Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
