Born and lived at Belper, Derbyshire. Son of James and Julia Cooper, of Whitemoor Lane, Belper; Husband of Beatrice A. Aldred (formerly Cooper), of Overstone Row, Holbrook Moor, Derby. He was a messenger boy prior to enlisting at Derby. He was killed in action, 26th December 1917, aged 22. whilst in the line near Bellevue, near Ypres, Belgium.
