Private Edward Cooper

Battalion: 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Willenhall, Staffordshire. Son of Thomas and Clara Cooper, of 5 Forge Street, Willenhall. Husband of Charlotte Ann Cooper, of 4 Forge Street, Willenhall. He was a stamper prior to enlisting on 5th February 1915 at Wolverhampton. He went to Gallipoli on 27th August 1915 with the South Staffordshire Regiment. He went to France and was transferred to the 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 20th July 1916 and was killed in action, 16th October 1917, whilst serving in the line near Zillebeke, near Ypres, Belgium.
