Born and lived at Derby. Son of George and Emma Cooling, of 50, Larges Street, Derby. He was an errand boy prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France on 16th March 1915 and died, 30th April 1915, aged 18, at 27 Field Ambulance.
Died: 30th April 1915, aged 18.
Buried: Sailly-Sur-La-Lys Canadian Cemetery, France. Plot 2. Row C. Grave 60.

His brother Private Fred Cooling, Royal Army Medical Corps, also fell in the Great War.
