Son of J. Cooke, of 3 Sandwich Street, Cartwright Gardens, London. He went to France on 11th September 1914 and was commissioned Second Lieutenant on 16th June 1915. He was killed in action, 9th August 1915, aged 28, in the attack at Sanctuary Wood, near Ypres, Belgium.
