Born at Bishop Norton, Lincolnshire. Son of Charles and Sarah Jane Cook, of Spital, Glentham, Lincoln. He was a farm labourer and horseman prior to enlisting at Lincoln. He was killed in action, 18th January 1917, aged 32, whilst serving in the line near Mazingarbe, France.
