Husband of Charlotte Louisa Cook, of 18 Warwick Villas, Homerton, London. He was a blacking tin filler (shoe polish) prior to enlisting on 9th December 1915 at Hackney Bath’s, London. He went to France 26th February 1917 and suffered gunshot wounds to his right foot, 4th May 1917. He was treated at 34 Casualty Clearing Station, La Chapelette, France and 11 Stationary Hospital, Rouen, France. He was transferred to England on Hospital Ship Western Australia. He returned to France 10th September 1917 and was killed in action, 3rd October 1918, in the attack on the German positions near Ramicourt and Montbrehain, France.
