Born at Cardiff, Wales. Son of George and Clara Colman, of 122, Wilford Crescent East, Nottingham. He was a city council gardener prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was He was killed in action, 24th April 1917, aged 20, when a German 8 inch shell burst in the courtyard of battalion headquarters at Lievin, France.
