Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Derby. Son of John and Mary Agnes Collis. He was a lace hand prior to enlisting on 6th May 1908 at Nottingham. He went to France on 8th September 1914 and was killed in action on 20th September 1914, when the battalion was ordered to retake trenches taken by the Germans at the head of the Troyon Valley, France, during the Battle of the Aisne.
