Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of William and Maria Coffey, of 1 Denmark Street, Nottingham. He was enlisted at Nottingham and was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, aged 18, in the attack at Beaumont Hamel, during the Battle of the Somme.
Buried : Bouzincourt Ridge Cemetery, Albert, France. Plot 2. Row O. Grave 24.
