Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of Albert and Emma Cocking, of 20, Hedderley Street, Union Road, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and was killed in action, 27th May 1918, aged 21, whilst the battalion was in a retiring fight from Montagne de Guyancourt, France.
