Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of John and Gertrude Cocker, of 8, Lotus Street, St. Anns Well Road, Nottingham. Was a bookbinders errand boy prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, aged 18, in the attack at Beaumont Hamel, France during the Battle of the Somme.

Buried : Knightsbridge Cemetery, Mesnil-Martinsart, France. Row E. Grave 20.
