Born in Bradford, Yorkshire. Son of Fred and Gemima Clow, of 10 Grimsby Terrace, Watkins Street, St. Annes, Nottingham. He was an errand lad prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 4th November 1914 and was killed in action, on 22nd December 1914, aged 17, whilst serving in the line “Red Barn” near Richebourg, France.
