Born and lived at Hull. Son of Mary Claxton. Brother of Miss Sarah Ann Claxton, of 4, Rosedale Avenue, Upton Street, Dansom Lane, Hull. He was a storeman prior to enlisting on 23rd October 1915 at Hull. He went to France on 9th November 1915 and was transferred to the 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 2nd February 1917 and died of wounds on 15th November 1917, aged 39.
