Born and lived at Derby. Son of William Henry and Sarah Ann Clarke, of 25, New Chester Street, Derby. He was a Bottle Washer prior to enlisting 8th November 1915 at Derby. He went to France 11th June 1916 and was killed, 20th July 1916, aged 27, by German Shellfire whilst in the line near Bellacourt, France.
