Born at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Son of Mary Kennedy, of 128 Bathurst Terrace, Scarcliffe, Derbyshire. Husband of Mary Clark, of Greyhound Court, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Mansfield. He was killed in action, 21st March 1918, whilst holding the line near Morchies, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
