Born and lived at Derby. Husband of Matilda Elizabeth Lomas, of 4 Rose Cottages, Siddall Road, Derby. He was a general labourer prior to enlisting 6th July 1914 at Derby. He went to France 1st March 1915 and died of wounds, 10th May 1915, at the 1st North Midland Field Ambulance.
